Disrupting The Ultrasound Paradigm
Since 2007
Unleashing ultrasound
Point-of-care ultrasound is no longer confined to the walls of the Emergency Department or Trauma Bays. We strive to create an ultrasound paradigm that unites all services and stakeholders. With our first in class, fully integrated, cloud-based system we are working to unite our system. Prehospital providers, special forces medics, hospitalists, pediatricians, specialized surgeons under the same ultrasound system. Who is next?
Nine Diverse Curricula
We are the leaders in Ultrasound Education this side of the Rockies. We run:
Two Longitudinal and Integrated Medical School Curricula
Paramedic and Prehospital and Medical Direction
Pediatric Residency Education
Integrated Critical Care Ultrasound Curriculum
Advanced Practitioner Provider Education
CME for multiple rural, community hospitals, and ski resorts
Remote Teleguided Ultrasound Fellowship in Guatemala

Expanding boundaries
Aside from uniting stakeholders, we are expanding locations. Our fellows, residents, and faculty are working to grow ultrasound far and wide. We are creating the first “Remote Ultrasound” rotation that combines novel technology with unique educational opportunities. We aim to serve austere, international, and wilderness environments. We recently helped launched a remote US fellowship throughout Guatemala.
Innovative Research
Prehospital Ultrasound
Does early ultrasound in the field change management?
What if we train our medics, military, and wilderness first responders to identifying life threatening causes from the field?
Artificial Intelligence
Can we create operator independent ultrasound hardware and software?
What if the Ultrasound itself can help teach providers? What if the operator has never used an ultrasound before? Can your iPhone learn to recognize your Face?
Teleguidance
Scaling our expertise.
We helped build teleguided ultrasound. We’re thinking hard about how it will change education and the delivery of care.
Nerve blocks
The first national block registry.
We are one of the founding core sites of a multi-site national ED nerve block registry. It is the first research group to collect and analyze large volumes of nerve block data.
